The proof

Every line, every language, every file.

Sintel, Blender Foundation, CC BY 3.0. The excerpt keeps 29 seconds of original English audio, not dubbed. The English, Spanish and French captions are publisher-distributed subtitles, 7 cues retimed to the excerpt with documented formatting edits. The title, description and thumbnail text in each language are draft metadata, not human-reviewed.

This is the packaging a pilot delivers, shown on a film we have the right to show. Each package holds the clip, the SRT and VTT captions, the draft metadata, the attribution and a README. Open them; the point of a proof is that you can. The sixteen languages on the offer pages are what a pilot covers for the one video your community judges. This proof shows captions and metadata in three languages, with original English audio, not dubbed, and it is not a pilot result.

Each ZIP holds the same original English clip, that language's SRT and VTT captions, the draft metadata, attribution and a README. Choosing a caption language never changes the audio.

What to look for

Three decisions you can check yourself.

  1. 01

    Meaning

Cue 4 asks, in English, about a kindred spirit. The Spanish says alma gemela and the French âme sœur, and both can carry a romantic shade the English does not. In a pilot that is a decision the agreed reviewer makes with you, and your own community judges the result. Here it is the publisher’s choice, shown as distributed.

  2. 02

    Timing

Cues 6 and 7 in French are wrapped differently from the publisher file without changing a word, so each line breaks where the eye can return to the picture. Timing is a reading decision before it is a formatting one, and it is the second layer of the mechanism: understood.

  3. 03

    Metadata

Compare the title, description and thumbnail text across the three languages. They ship with the captions because they decide whether the video is found at all, which is the first layer of the mechanism. Here they are labelled draft: in a pilot, your written acceptance is what turns a draft into a release.

Now pick your hardest video.

One video, sixteen languages, and your community’s verdict first. The fit review is answered by email.
